Energy gels are carbohydrate gels that provide energy for exercise and promote recovery, commonly used in endurance events such as running, cycling, and triathlons. Energy gels are also referred to as endurance gels, sports gels, nutritional gels, and carbohydrate gels. (thanks Wikipedia)
One of the best energy gels you can get in nature is simple and plain Honey, yes, just a tablespoon of honey itself has 17 grams of carbohydrates, if you are keen to make your own here is a simple and wonderful recipe.
Ingredients:
Take the blueberries and grind it, and pass it through a strainer into a bowl, add the salt and the agave syrup (rice syrup or honey) and mix it together after the mixture is consistent and put it into your gel flask.
I have been tasting all this recipes by myself and I can tell you they work as well or even better than regular gels or energy drinks, give them a go you wont regret it, is better for your pocket and your health.
